Billy Hairston: A Walkertown Legacy

Join the Walkertown Area Historical Society and the library for a special Black History Month tribute honoring Billy Hairston, who made history as the first and only Black member of the Walkertown Town Council. Mr. Hairston also served as Mayor Pro Tem during his time in office in the 1980s.

His family will present on his life, service, and lasting impact on the Walkertown community. This program offers a meaningful opportunity to learn about local history and celebrate a trailblazing figure in our town's civic life.
