Winston-Salem State University’s O’Kelly Library, in partnership with the Forsyth County Central Library, is hosting a community lecture series called The WSSU Curiosity Exchange. Each Wednesday from Jan. 14-March 4, speakers from WSSU will share highlights from their research aimed at improving the community's knowledge, health, safety, and quality of life.

The Prolonged Power of Mentoring

Presenter: Dawn N. Hicks Tafari, Ph.D.

A girl from Edenwald Projects in the Bronx does not earn a doctorate or become a full professor without the support of a powerful village and a cadre of empowered mentors. Come enjoy an engaging conversation about the tangible ways that mentors change lives, the mutual benefits of mentoring, and learn the nuanced strategies that Dr. Tafari calls “mentor mainstays.”
