In the spirit of Black History Month, the Central Library is proud to host Diane Faison as she performs "The Spirit of Harriet Tubman." Diane Faison studied the life of Harriet Tubman and has written and performed a one-woman play about the leader

Families will hear stories, enjoy singing and dancing while learning about African American culture, stories, and music. Program recommended for children ages 6-8.

The National African American Read-In was established in 1990 by the Black Caucus of the National County of Teachers of English to make literacy a significant part of Black History Month.
