Children will build literacy skills through books and improve their fine motor skills by doing crafts that will introduce them to various art mediums and techniques.

Ideal for children ages birth to 10 years and their caregivers. 

Whether you are a seasoned crafter or just want to learn, consider joining Triad Sip & Stitch, our library’s weekly knitting and crochet group.

Unwind with a relaxing morning of coloring, coffee, and community. Coloring sheets, colored pencils, and coffee will be provided.  

Take your crochet skills to the next level with our Advanced Crochet Class! This course is designed for experienced crocheters ready to refine their techniques, explore intricate patterns, and master complex stitches.

Preschoolers can learn new words and stimulate their brains with crafts that include different colors, shapes, and textures and relate to the weekly Storytime theme.

Join instructor Kasey Terran as we learn to make wire-wrapped jewelry. This two-hour course will explore different techniques of wire wrapped jewelry creation. Registration is required.

Come to our tie-dye workshop to create your own colorful design on a pillowcase. We’ll provide all the needed materials, and you'll leave with a unique piece of art.

This group welcomes all needlework artists at any skill level to chat and work on individual needlework projects and peruse needlework books from the library’s collection.

Would you like to learn how to paint flowers, birds, and other denizens of nature? Local artist Donna Calloway will be offering beginners acrylic painting classes on the 3rd Saturday and 4th Thursday of each month from 2-4:30 p.m.

Celebrate the beloved characters of Mo Willems with fun crafts, silly games, and an interactive story performance. Get ready for laughter, creativity, and lots of Elephant & Piggie fun!

Join us for an artistic-filled summer this year as we Color Our World during Summer Reading Program. Each week we will tackle a different avenue of art and create a unique project. 

Join fellow teen writers and published teen author Bianca Jones to share feedback, learn about the publishing process and more. Ages 12 to 18. 

Art is messy! Join us for our last Tween Tuesday of Summer where we create a beautiful mess on canvas. Throw paint, use a paintbrush, do some fingerpainting, the choices are endless! Wear clothes that can get messy. For ages 9-12.

Children aged 4 through tweens are invited to do fun (and MESSY!) STEAM activities. We are repeating some of the most popular STEAM activities this summer.

The Library's Makerspace at Forsyth County Central Library has 3D printers, sewing machines, and other technology as well as space and worktables for large creative projects. Access to Makerspace equipment is first come, first served. 

The Malloy/Jordan East Winston Heritage Center will be hosting a FREE tie-dye class. All you need to do is bring a clean white/light colored shirt with you. All dyeing materials will be provided.

Create a summer themed masterpiece. With instruction by Kevin Casteel, you will paint your own piece of art. On Tuesday, July 22 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the Central Library Makerspace. This is an 18+ program. Spots are limited.
