Week Calendar

Children will build literacy skills through books and improve their fine motor skills by doing crafts that will introduce them to various art mediums and techniques.

Ideal for children ages birth to 10 years and their caregivers. 

Whether you are a seasoned crafter or just want to learn, consider joining Triad Sip & Stitch, our library’s weekly knit and crochet group.  This group meets every Monday from 9:30 a.m.

Join us on the front lawn of the Central Library every Monday for fun self-directed activities exploring arts, innovation, reading, and community. 

In this class you'll learn the basics of using your sewing machine. You'll learn how to thread your machine and bobbin, use the different features of your machine, and feel comfortable continuing to sew at home.

Our monthly Witchy Washy and Whatnot Crafting group is a great way to meet other crafters and learn to make all sorts of fun projects, many of which include the use of washi tape! 

Join us while we paint and embellish pre-printed canvases to create a unique work of art. Space is limited, so please register.

Would you like to learn how to paint flowers, birds, and other denizens of nature? Local artist Donna Calloway will be offering beginners acrylic painting classes on the 3rd Saturday and 4th Thursday of each month from 2-4:30 p.m.

Come unwind with a relaxing afternoon of coloring, coffee, and socializing. Coloring supplies and coffee will be provided.

Join us for Neon Night, a special glow-in-the-dark painting program exclusively for teens! Express your creativity and make luminous artworks in a fun, relaxed setting. All materials will be provided. 

Join us at Rural Hall Branch to complete a different art project. This month we'll be making giant cardboard cupcakes.

For ages 9-17. Do you love to make art? Looking for something creative to do during the summer? Join us for The Art Hour for Tweens and Teens to make fun and interesting art together. Great art projects for people of all skill levels.

Unlock the potential of your smartphone camera with guidance from accomplished photographer Owens Daniels. In this hands-on class, learn techniques to elevate your mobile photography from simple snapshots to compelling visual stories.

Take a painting class from local artist Kevin Casteel and enjoy snacks and soft drinks. Classes limited to 15 participants. Registration required.

Join fellow teen writers and published teen author Bianca Jones to share feedback, learn about the publishing process and more. Ages 12 to 18. 

We are growing our STEAM skills with this Tween Tuesday space program! Learn more about our solar system while using your art skills. For ages 9-12.

The Library's Makerspace at Forsyth County Central Library has 3D printers, sewing machines, and other technology as well as space and worktables for large creative projects. Access to Makerspace equipment is first come, first served. 

In this class, you will learn how to improve your sewing skills by using old clothing to make sustainable fashion that is both creative and eco-friendly. 

This group welcomes all needlework artists at any skill level to chat and work on individual needlework projects and peruse needlework books from the library’s collection. 

The Classic Gold Music Jam provides a welcoming venue for musicians at all levels to enjoy fellowship and music. Bring an instrument to play or grab a chair and watch.
